Bushboy team is devoted to ensuring you have a fun, safe adventure vacation.
Guides are knowledgeable, skilled outdoorsmen with lovely group skills
and a great sense of how to play in the woods. Bushboy trips aren’t
about proving anything to anyone, though you may be amazed at how comfortable
you can be (or become) in nature, or how good it feels to leave urban
trappings behind in such good company!
Rather than the macho wilderness ‘challenge’ mentality that
has dominated the outdoors field for too long, at Bushboy, we approach
our trips as a celebration, as trips of discovery. We seek to find some
balance between getting somewhere with just ‘being.’ We want
to create positive, memorable outdoor vacations for gay men in all our
diversity. Not butch? Not an issue! Haven't camped in thirty years- not
an issue! Don't have a partner or buddy to sign up with? Not an issue!
Don't speak Canadian? Well... that could be a problem but we can teach
you, eh?
Beth
Mairs is best known as the director and founder of Wild Women Expeditions,
an outdoor adventure company for women. Beth is usually found ‘ripping
it up’ with the girls either in the bush or about town... however,
she had this great idea that just wouldn’t go away... and that was
to extend what she has learned in the past 16 years developing what has
become the largest outdoor adventure company for women in Canada and share
that with a different client group: gay men.
Well, here’s another story... Beth’s “baby” Wild Women
turned 16 this year and she has been bugging her mother for a baby brother
for years! Its been a rather long gestation (three years) and a miracle
in-oh- so many other ways... but soon- like April 20th 2006 to be exact-
this gorgeous baby boy (named Bushboy or BB for short) will come into
this world.

Guide Hi, I'm Kelly. Very simply, I'm happiest when I'm outside, particularly on the water. It's the fresh air and the simplicity of life that the wilderness affords. It makes me so giddy! I live for both end's the nature spectrum. I've jumped out of a perfectly good plane, I love white-water canoeing, or dodging rocks and trees on a mountain bike. But there's nothing like the serenity of a moonlight paddle on a perfectly quiet lake, or watching the sunrise as all of nature starts the day. I'm really looking forward to playing, splashing and chilling, in the great outdoors with you all this summer. |
